TECHNO is a style of electronic dance music that originated way back in the 80's. The term was first used in reference to music in 1988 in Detroit, sort of the "birthplace" of Techno Music. Over the years, many people now use the term to describe all electronic dance music. My first Podcast of 2012 incorporates many of the Techno classics of the early 90's (when Techno had become mainstream club music). Some of these are the original mixes, but many are more recent remixes from the past few years...and a couple were "enhanced" a bit by yours truly Enjoy, and Happy New Year Everyone!

Took a road trip to Sedona last week and really enjoyed listening to some trance while driving...really seemed to go along with the speed of the car. And, happy to say...no speeding tickets Anyway, as Julie Andrews once sang, "These are a few of my favorite things"...well, these are definitely a few of my favorite trance tracks of all time. Tried recording this last night but the loudness of the bass caused my house to vibrate so much that my cd burner malfunctioned ;( So...tried again this afternoon and this time put a bath towel under it to keep the machine from vibrating so much and it worked!!! My Podcast this week is a total "concept mix". Decided to record a mix with some of my favorite "rain" songs. Often, I think of a song that I haven't heard in awhile and make a mental note to put it in a mix sometime soon...well, this mix has many of the songs I've thought about in the past year or so. Many are personal favorites from the past 3 decades or so. I did this mix "morning style"...most of these tracks are much higher tempo (bpm) and were slowed down alot for this mix...love that master tempo on my cd decks...lol Since these are all personal favorites, I decided to lay down some "crib notes" for anyone who cares...enjoy!!!
